Clayton officer shot in arm and recovering Middletown hospital
Below in this page, we report the news of a Clayton police officer that was shot in his arm when he approached a wanted man with warrant. The new has shocked the entire Clayton police department and the city at large.
The police officer named Cody Cecil has been with the police for 8 years since 2015 and unfortunately on Thursday this week, he was shot in the arm and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and underwent surgery and is recovering at the moment.
The event leading up to the incident was when him and one other officers responded to Hacker Road to serve a search warrant on a 22-year-old Elijah Clements who was wanted for arson, aggravated menacing, and domestic violence.
It was an the other officers who found Cecil at the neighbor’s front porch and when he went in to find Clement, he has already fled inside his house and there he barricaded himself.
When the cops tried to be in contact with him, he fired several rounds at the officers and one bullet hit one of the officers in the arm.
The suspect Clements who shot Cecil was later found Clements dead inside the home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
